The Blood Bath of B-R5RB

I was watching one of Scott Manleys (A guy who does Space/Science related gaming videos on YT) videos, and he mentioned some battle called B-R5RB in an MMO called Eve Online. The Video was about how people were spending €1000s on Virtual ships on Eve Online and Start Citizen. In Eve Online, I'm sure if you lose the ship, thats it, its gone and you have to buy it again

I went to google to see if I could find anything about this. I can only recall any sort of a "big event" in Runescape, in 2006. Some glitch happened where players could attack others in safe zones, and players losts Millions in game cash.

So what I found on this wikipedia page was amazing. If you're like me, and waste time reading about history on Wikipedia, and research a bit on any conflict, war, or battle, generally the page has a summary explaining the Belligerents, Commanders, Strength, Casualties and so on. There was a total of 7,548 participants (No AI). Damages amounted to $300,000-330,000+ in real life USD for the cost of destroyed and damaged vehicles. The most expesive ships, titans were qouted to be from $2,000-$4,000 Each.


This happened 8 Months ago but I'm not sure if many know about it. What do you think about these insane MMO battles? I just think It's crazy how people could spend real money on these ships, and in no way get anything back (You can't sell the ships for money) and how much was lost.

TL;DR,

A battle in an MMO called Eve Online, 7,000 real people, and the cost of the players ships that were destroyed amounted to $300,000.

It is about spending money in ingame items that can be destroyed.

I think it's in Iceland? Not sure about that, though.
