Evil Dead Original (1980's) vs Evil Dead 2013?

I've heard it's quite a good movie, with an even better sequel, but I keep hearing mixed opinions and debates over whether the original or remake was better. Can someone help me out with this?

I think the first one probably has more of a cult following, since when I hear people talking about Evil Dead it's always about how funny or cheesy it was.

the first Evil Deatd was "Best movie" of the year. The newest version is good, but the original is still the best! It was a low budget movie but you don't notice that. The 2nd part was good, but not better, the 3th part (Army of Darkness), well, good for a laugh. Ash went back in time, his hand was replaced by a chainsaw or gun, dunno which 1 and had to fight against his evil side.

I think I like the first one more, it had some really creepy scenes that I would have liked to see in the remake.

They are both great. The remake doesn't have all the camp of the original but it does kick up the horror aspect.

It's a very interesting take on the original. Both should be enjoyed.
