What is the best FPS on Steam? Something that is low priced but awesome. Something with a varity of guns. Gimme your comments and thank you for participating!

Oh, the setting isn't the problem.
The problem was infinite getting rid of any of the intelligent thought and strategy the last two games had.

-no more weapon upgrades
-can only carry 2 weapons at a time
-no inventory to carry healing items/energy boosting stuff
-personal maid to literally retrieve health/ammo for you

it was just a generic FPS game that threw out everything that makes the Shock franchise good.

Add the lack of little sisters to that.

The main thing that bothered me in Infinite was that Vigors were only there because it was supposedly a BioShock game. But all the things you mentioned irritated me as well.

I also don't get why everyone had such an emotional connection to Elizabeth. I didn't find myself really ever caring too much about her, mainly because enemies never shot at her and I never had to do anything to protect her myself. She also never really helped me in fights herself, rather, she just threw health and salts for me to catch.

I felt much more attached to Alyx Vance from Half Life 2 because not only could she hold her own in a fight, she was also a more interesting character IMO and she felt more active throughout my adventure overall. Elizabeth was passive for most of the game.

Labeling one of the many first-person shooters on Steam as "the best" would be impossible for me, though I can say that I probably enjoyed playing through the Serious Sam, Half-Life and Counter-Strike franchises somewhat more than others. Most of them have multiplayer, all of them are challenging, and all of them provide a variety of generally balanced weapons, with the possible exception of Half-Life's Tau Cannon.

On the subject of the Shock games, Systemshock 2 is pretty good if you don't mind the dated graphics.

It's pretty spoopy, and a decent challenge compared to some of the recent-gen games.

Geez, all I did was say Infinite was good. What's wrong with that? I liked the gameplay mechanics, the storyline, and the DLC. Oh, and yes I have played the first two. BioShock 2 wasn't all that great, but I did enjoy BioShock. I just thought Infinite was better than the other two. It's just a matter of preference.

If you haven't played them, Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas are pretty great. In terms of general FPS games though, I would have to go with Payday 2. (Purely because I've put in around 100 hours and I'm still having fun with it)

Considering that the OP is asking for the "best" first-person shooters on Steam, and all you said involving Infinite was "Single Player: BioShock Infinite", most of us assumed you were calling BSI the best single player FPS out of all of ones available on Steam.

If you're looking for multiplayer, Team Fortress 2 is what you want.
