Children are also sexually mature by nature at the ages of around 10-11, peaking and hitting puberty soon after (around 12-14). For girls it's even eariler. Therefore they should be naturally curious at some stage in their life. A video game, tv show, or even the internet, they might find sooner or later... but at least it's the safety of their own home, which in most cases, if the parent is any good, will notice and then know it's time to teach their children about the correct real-world behaviour, etc. Parents are otherwise normally too stupid to realise their children do grow up and aren't that innocent anymore. 90% of them will attempt to avoid the subject if they can even when the kid is 13-16 and their schools have to teach them in sex ed where they become totally embarassed or peer pressured by their friends, for crying out loud!
Give a kid a zip of beer, and he actually acts more mature about it later on in life. Less likely to act like a drunk fool at parties, etc. Deny a kid something in life and they will simply rebel, craving to get it more. It's all about smaller controlled situationals, rather than throwing in the deep end to survival.
Same deal with swearing and everything else... They see that more in school and their actual social lifes (even from friends), than they would a game. However a parent overhearing them swearing at someone else in reply can at least take some control of that situation and correct that behaviour.
So quit the blame games and using them for scapegoating... it has nothing to do with the violent video games - which you yourself as a parent needs to purchase for the kid to be able to play. They are restricted labelled - in which the kid requires ID or an adult to buy for them - if they believe he/she is mature enough. So it just comes down to your terrible parenting skills! Also, most parents are just using them as a cheap baby sitter so they don't have to deal with the kid themselves.
About as silly as those 'muricans that left a loaded gun on a coffee table with the safety off. They blamed GTA 5 for the shooting - which the kid just played 5 minutes of, in which he just drove a car around, not even getting a gun in the game... rather than taking responsibility of their own actions. If there wasn't the game, it would be something else, another scapegoat.
I demand evidence
evidence is all around u
You say that as if you had just showered me with evidence. You can't come up with one good, scientifically proven reason children are evil?
are u a child perhaps?
As opposed to them catching a bad show I'd rather them get stuck on the little moment that's there than consume something that's useless in its entirety. Lol, this makes me think about when my cousin used to wave me over to the naked portion of Titanic. Whoopty do. Body parts. A few episodes of family guy will probably do a lot more damage. Instead of thinking shooting people is cool and the cops will arrest you, they learn how to treat their family like garbage for sport.
Most parents really aren't even around to supervise anything. They usually just do things to keep their kids quiet. And I know growing up my parents talked about one bad moment in something shouldn't be enough to swear it off. It's mostly up to parents to make sure they don't soak in that one moment. There's not much that can be done aside from taking it away. Now if you catch them on that point and never passing that point... Yeah. Stop them. Otherwise it's a bit late. OMG nudity stop the movie. Really?
A fair example is game of thrones. Though extremely inappropriate at times, especially season 1. It still tells a story. It's not porn, or a nude mod. It's just. Oh look, there's a thing. And it's gone.
The rest usually go punished. Shooting cops, if you think they're serious about it, they'll eventually die every time because it's bad. Beating up randoms, cops. Dead, or jail. Take your money. If they think saint's row 3 is real you better grease up your knees because you're going to be slapping them more than two hillbillies telling dry jokes.
Stuff happens... Did flappy bird have murder and blood? No. Still caused one. There's No school shootings in video games. Still happens. No acts of rape either. Video games don't hold weight unless they think it does.
I wouldn't say so, but that's up to debate. Why do you ask?
Coming from the 13 years old, that's ironic
