Quite the opposite, usually (in my opinion). Generally, it's the exclusives that make a console worth owning. Obviously, that's not always the case, but probably more often than not.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but my point is that if every game ever made were available on every platform (including PC)...well, then I guess the only platform I would own would be a PC. I have most of the consoles and a couple of the handhelds dating back several generations. Most of the reason I have any other platform besides a PC is for the exclusives, and it's definitely worth it, in my opinion.

Exactly, i dont see any other reason to own a console other than for exclusives. Thats why i own PC, PS3 and PS4, i dont need any other consoles honestly

For one thing, I thought the exclusives on the 360 were far better than most of the PS3 ones (Literally the only ones I thought were amazing were Uncharted 2 and Infamous 1), even if that's only Halo and Gears of War really. And yes, I literally played the vast majority of PS3 exclusives over the last 4 years that I've owned my PS3, even rather unknown ones like Dead Nation.

Obviously, you don't pick a console for the "ok" exclusives, you pick it for the amazing ones, and that was Xbox for me. Only reason I got the PS3 was that I got caught up in the hype for the exclusives, only to find that most of the ones I was excited for were either crappy or just decent.

PS4, at the moment, doesn't really have any games. I'd say get a PS3.

IMO if you get a console get it after its lifespan has ended. The system is cheap and the games are too. You also have Persona 5 to look forward to in I think March of 2015. Unless you speak Japanese, in which case you only have to wait till December.

Though, unless you're a JRPG fan, you probably aren't too interested in Persona.

Spend the money on upgrading your PC, or making one if you only have a laptop or something. Only reason to get a console these days is for split-screen, and some of the exclusives, and the PC is capable of split-screen (Maybe not as straight forward or easy, but still capable) and has better exclusives anyways. If you're dead set on getting a playstation or already have a beefy enough computer, than get a PS3... it's way better than a PS4 at the moment, and I wouldn't be suprised if it stayed that way.

I was questioning my next console, and when it came to it all I could think about was the Xbox One. Mainly because of my really high gamer score on the 360. But strangly I was also thinking of getting a 3DS instead.
