As for games... Elsword is a good, free fighter game/MMO that isn't very graphic intensive. I used to play it all the time on my old toaster which couldn't run anything and it ran pretty well.
Try S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it's great and a good benchmark test

true true. i dont have the lingo down yet. apoligies
You can even swap the Graphics to 1990 EGA/VGA Mode. If that is not last gen then i don#t know what else
YIKES!
You can still get by with what you have and enjoy games like Left4Dead2, Counterstrike Source, Gmod (almost any source game). If you want something more open world or RPG type: Red Faction G, Just Cause 2 (just about 30-40fps on lower settings), GTA SA, even Fallout 3, TES Oblivion, will all run well at playable framerates. As for racing- pretty much all need for speed games up to NFS Carbon will run on higher settings for 60fps. Track Mania 2 Stadium looks BEAUTIFUL and runs on an empty cardboard box. Flight Sims? FSX and WarThunder both will run perfectly well on lower settings for 60fps. Sim Sims? Yea, all the Sims games in the series (even current ones) will run just fine on an i3 even with integrated GPU.
Bonus: Just about any game pre 2008 should run well and look great on higher settings(with the exception of some poorly optimized games such as GTA IV, Saints Row 2).. And just about any INDIE game will be just fine on the highest settings - games like Really Big Sky.
NOTE: Look for games on the following hardware friendly engines
-Source
-Unity
-Unreal
Avoid games on non-hardware friendly engines
-Frostbite
-Rage
-CryEngine
EDIT: Forgot to mention, all games listed above are usually around $15 and go on sale every so often for less than $10.
