im new to the pc market and still in school. i dont know what the specs for this junk is but i can tell you that this is a "HP Pavillion G series" laptop. yea junk. ive been lookering around without luck. many games are too much. unturned getting a twitchy 20 frames on the lowest settings. if anyone could pass around some tips that would be cool... damn broken spacebar

Welcome to the Steam party train. We can't help you out much unless you list your specs, but if you're having low FPS with Unturned on the lowest settings you'll probably be having the same issue on a lot of games.

As for games... Elsword is a good, free fighter game/MMO that isn't very graphic intensive. I used to play it all the time on my old toaster which couldn't run anything and it ran pretty well.

"Generations" don't actually apply to PC games; and depending on how the games were made, you can even run games from the last century in 1920x1080 (although their model- and texture quality won't be quite up to todays standards).
The best way we can help you is by trying a custom 2005-2007 game and tell the results..
Try S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it's great and a good benchmark test
Final Fantasy 7 is a pretty good old game.

(Note, def not only games of this or last gen ->)Rise of Nations, Age of empires 3, Terraria, Mount and blade warband, Magicka, FTL, Titans quest (sorta diablo 2), Mark of the ninja. You should be ablo to play these games.

Magicka get intense, I doubt he could run it when it gets to boss fights or bomb goblins.

You said "last gen." There is no "last gen" or "new gen" in PC gaming.

true true. i dont have the lingo down yet. apoligies
You know that you want to play The Secret of Monkey Island Special Editon.
You can even swap the Graphics to 1990 EGA/VGA Mode. If that is not last gen then i don#t know what else :B1:
YIKES!
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind has lots of mods and could run on just about anything.
You don’t have a horrible setup, I've seen A LOT worse. And about unturned capping at 20fps- no worries. The game is not fully optimized and even with an i7, some people cap out at only 40fps. Integrated GPU's are weak but you have a solid processor. I'd look for processor intensive games.

You can still get by with what you have and enjoy games like Left4Dead2, Counterstrike Source, Gmod (almost any source game). If you want something more open world or RPG type: Red Faction G, Just Cause 2 (just about 30-40fps on lower settings), GTA SA, even Fallout 3, TES Oblivion, will all run well at playable framerates. As for racing- pretty much all need for speed games up to NFS Carbon will run on higher settings for 60fps. Track Mania 2 Stadium looks BEAUTIFUL and runs on an empty cardboard box. Flight Sims? FSX and WarThunder both will run perfectly well on lower settings for 60fps. Sim Sims? Yea, all the Sims games in the series (even current ones) will run just fine on an i3 even with integrated GPU.

Bonus: Just about any game pre 2008 should run well and look great on higher settings(with the exception of some poorly optimized games such as GTA IV, Saints Row 2).. And just about any INDIE game will be just fine on the highest settings - games like Really Big Sky.

NOTE: Look for games on the following hardware friendly engines
-Source
-Unity
-Unreal

Avoid games on non-hardware friendly engines
-Frostbite
-Rage
-CryEngine

EDIT: Forgot to mention, all games listed above are usually around $15 and go on sale every so often for less than $10.
