Super Noah's Ark 3D.

BioShock

Honestly, stay away from BF. BF requires skills and tactics and team playing...if you're a noob and don't have them then you're just going to hurt your team. The best option would be to play COD since it's easy and every COD games is the same. The downside is that if you try to play BF after having played COD you have to rid yourself of all the bad habits...basically everything that made you a COD player.
COD

It's so easy that 99% of the playerbase are 9 year old kids.
Most of them have various difficulty settings so it boils down to what interests you.

Am I missing something? Shasow said BioShock, not Battlefield.
Quake is great for getting into FPS mechanics, and CoD is great for understanding the competive aspect of FPS games. CS would be a great game to transition to afterwards.

the casual CS GO community here on the east coast USA is actually quite nice, I'm sure even if he's new they'd be cool with him. So long as he played with bots once or twice first that is to understand what the goal is.
CS GO is pretty easy to pick up but hard to master.

Whatever you do, STAY AWAY FROM ARMA.

But if you had some friends to play it with Rust is an option. It has large FPS elements in it right beside crafting.

Call of Biofield: Infinite Fanboydom

Am I the only one who didn't think Infinite was anything special? Everyone said that it was like so emotional and that the story was great but I didn't think it was as fantastic like everyone said it was. Gameplay-wise, the two weapon limit sucked and made upgrades to weapons feel like they didn't matter because you might not have that weapon all the time. Vigors, while they were kinda fun, never really felt neccessary unlike in BioShock 1 where you basically NEED to use the Plasmids.

The game was also short and was pretty easy, as well as it had a Deus Ex Machina every time you died, which took away most of the challenge.

While I did enjoy my time with it, I didn't think it was GOTY material like some people did.

in bioshock 1... if you didn't use the plasmids in combat you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died. There was no way around it, bullets were scarce and enemies kept coming. I loved that...

Heretic!

But yes, you were correct. Most vigors were useless beyond the puzzle you were forced to do in order to progress, and with so many opportunities to buy ammo but upgrades being rare and costly, you were pretty much were stuck with the same guns throughout.
