Is teal more blue or green?
Was just wondering. I can't figure out if teal is a more blue version of green or a more green version of blue.

Teal's blue with a hint of green in it.

Nope. The standardised colour 'teal' is neither blue nor green. Of the three primary colours, it is composed of 0% red, a 50% saturation of blue and a 50% saturation of green.

If you think teal is more blue than green - or vice versa - you are probably colour blind.

Green is not a primary colour though. They are red, blue and yellow. Green is a mix between blue and yellow. So basically if it's 50-50 blue and green and green is 50-50 blue and yellow, then teal is 75-25 blue and yellow.

Primary for what? Cause the TV screens are made of red, green and blue diodes.
Was this also necessary to revive a 4 year old thread?

Green is one of the "primary" photopigments on your retina though.

I have this '97 Honda Accord and I can't tell if it's just green or maybe teal.

Why do I keep having multiple year threads get revived?
Henri de Penri 3. nov. 2020 kl. 2.27
Oh sorry, didn't see it was this old :D I came here when googling whether team is technically green or blue, as I thought of using teal in a blue colour palet.

Primary colours are the pigments that can be used to mix other colours. With paint that is red, yellow and blue. Arguably also white as it could be used to mix pink, but whether white technically is a colour remains under discussion.

Henri de Penri, obviously people do not know what they are talking about. So, you will listen only to me.
Logically speaking, if teal is a mixture of green and blue, and green is a mixture of yellow and blue, while blue is simply blue, teal would be more blue than green. Because you would have two times blue, and one times yellow, provided the original premise from 2016 (!) is correct.

I hope that answers it for you.

It actually switches for me. I can look and see white/gold and when I look back, it switched to black/blue. Anyway, I see teal as more greenish.
