Is teal more blue or green?
Was just wondering. I can't figure out if teal is a more blue version of green or a more green version of blue.

Can I assume that you are a girl? Because most of the guys will have to google what it is...and they will probably see combination of both colors, or sickly looking green(as I do).

Uh, no. I'm a guy. I just really liked the drawing so I used it as my profile pic. I just know what it is since I like art. I know it's a combination of both colors but I just can't decide whether it has more blue or green in it usually.

Ah. Well then. I googled a little and this one comment got my attention, I quote "Teal is a direct median between green and blue. It depends on its context. Next to indigo, it'll look greenish. Next to olive green, it's definitely blue. I usually consider it more of a blue color for all practical purposes. Such as coloring something that should be green as teal. Teal colored grass would look weird, no? To me, using teal to color something as blue feels more natural."

teal makes a good shade of water in a lot of situations.

Huh. That actually makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

I feel like these off topic threads are simply troll attempts to poke fun at the literal meta-philosophical proposition that there is an on topic question requirement that dominates everything else but in this "safe space". I mean really though, some of these are worse than yahoo questions circa 2005.

Teal's blue with a hint of green in it. But if you're talking about the colour of teal that the common teal bird has around its eyes, it looks more green.

Depends on the shades/colours around it, I guess. Cool shades: More blue, warm shades: more green.

I see it as a blue.

Always have in my thought process at least...its a special light blue :3
I knew a girl named Teal, she was white...and gorgeous.
