Why are bear traps called bear traps?
I never see people use them for bears, I always see them use them on people, even if you search up "Bear caught in bear trap" it will not show that.

The reason I am posting this is because nearly every game I play has bear traps.

You mean like in Riddick? Yeah lol, it is made for BIG creatures, including us. So of course people will find a way to use it on eachother. But they are MOSTLY used on wildlife.

No. They are used for bears. Movies, T.V. and video games make it seem like they are for people. They are used for wildlife. Usually foxes, wolves, and bears. It used to be beavers as well, but I don't keep up to date on beaver trapping...

They vary in size, but one intent. And that intent isn't humans.

Pretty much this. Funny how people actually start believing certain things because of the mainstream medias.
They're illegal so they aren't really used for anything anymore.

Why is Gorilla Glue called that when we never use it on gorillas?

True.

Because it's strong enough and tested on sticking two Gorilla's together as they fight to try break apart...

We human's are moral creatures, so don't test this stuff on ourselves legally. Rather we uses other animals to torture upon... So the bear trap is called a bear trap, because they originally tested it on a bear and it's strong enough to hold that bear or kill it.
