Ask the owners of the rights.
We might at least be able to reuse their world, lore and rules. Not talking about art assets or code base, only intellectual properties.
I have the skillset of a Technical Artist, and a little bit of everything concerning game development.
If you could gather up a team, I'm in (on a hobby basis, not full time).
We could create a demo within say 4-6 months of a bare bones game snippet and then add it to kickstarter, indie gogo or similair.

Also, I think your referral is a litte off. This was about remakes or game creation, not getting aldready existing games onto steam.
