Cannot open Mozilla Firefox *desktop*

hey , i tried to open mozilla but it sais : Couldn't load XPCOM

it may sound and look weird that i posted this on Steam D: but i can't open the browser + i am using steam only on the browser idk why and all of my desktop shortcuts dissapperead idk why.The only thing i am worried about is the Browser *i have a programm that stays hidden , probably a virus* but it is not his fault and i try to get rid of him :(( i will drink 10 galons of bleach if u help me or just tell me how to get google chrome or internet explorer so i can download mozilla again
