Anime Club 4 N00Bz

[Fire Demon]

I took some suggestions from some Steam users on here and I loved the anime that I watched. Every anime I've toucehd has been GOLD. As I build my taste in anime, I wanna be able to know exactly what I'm going to like/not going to like. This will be espeically helpful given the ocean of anime that's out there Let me give you the short list of what I've watched and loved in order:

I really encourage everyone to join and post and spread the word so we can get all kinds of different anime lovers or n00bz to share their perspectives.

I also really want to watch the Persona 5 anime that came out today or yesterday but again...no word on the dub yet... Crunchyroll is taking all my most anticipated anime yo!

No it doesn't. It has 50 episodes for both series of it, which does total to 100 but they're different series. Brotherhood follows the plot of the manga while the original has its own plot.

Oh so...do you watch one before the other or nah?

Uh... That is debatable. THere is the original anime run, that covers the first story arc, 3 movies that cover the same arc that came out not too long ago with much improved animation, then a new series that is justing HEAVY CGI that people seem to dislike. You can watch the first series and feel pretty good about it. Or the 3 movies and get a prettier but more abbreviated experience and still feel that way.

I watch it on Kissanime (Stupid name I know)

There is two of them, don't watch the new one, it's awful.

The old one was made in the 90's

Nah. They all love the FMA Brotherhood because of the fact that it sticks close to the manga, where the 2003 version goes off into imaginationland around episode 34 or so. I think I liked the 2003 version better, but Brotherhood had a lot more Izuna, so it is close. Plus the 2003 version had a better movie in my opinion.

I actually misread the thread and thought people were referring to FMA when they were talking about Berserk, but all the people I've seen that talked about it seemed to prefer the 2003 version more.

Ok I've been reading good reviews about the new Berserk. The old one was before my time.

In the case of FMA, I have no idea where to begin or what to do

By the way here's an update:

Watching Space Dandy as we chat and it's cute sorta. It's like a comedic Cowboy Bebop which kind of seems uninspired being that they're done by the same guy but I'm only on episode 4 so we'll see

Watch the original Berserk series, if you watch FMA Brotherhood, you get a rehash of a lot of the manga plot that the first series went through quickly, then it follows the manga closely. Watch 2003 FMA, watch 2 story arcs from the manga, then watch things deviate wildly. Brotherhood is good, 2003 is my preference, but I watched all of it first, and I am a sentimental sort.

Man, two version anime crisis. I am glad I didn't suggest Hellsing, which I count as technically having 3.

I have heard good things about the site. Never been, well, until just this second to see what they have listed. I only usually go to "Other" means when a show is literally lost to time. Like 3x3 Eyes, El-Hazard, or Gal Force.
