Computer science or graphic design?
This may be an unusal place to ask, but can any one give tips to someone who is at crossroads for picking their college major? I'm an 18 year old who just started college a week ago, and i'm having trouble picking between a major in Computer Science, or a major in Graphic Design. I really like drawing and making art, but i also find programming pretty fun. I guess I'm troubled with makeing the decision to invest my life in making art or writing code and making programs/software. I made an educational plan for future courses required for computer science and the amount of hard math classes rose some red flags so it got me thinking. In comparision with my experince in art, programming/coding is fairly new to me, but very interesting. Any similar experince or advice for picking a major? Thanks for any reply in advance.

tl;dr: Can't choose between computer science and graphics design, wat do

Yea that makes sense, but it's not like I HATE math, I understand its importance, I just fear of not being able to do it. Precalculus and trigonometry that is. People say you don't need to be a math wiz to program but I know it helps. Thanks for the reply though, anything helps to get me thinking.

In your situation, I would go with graphic design as you're more comfy with it.
My fiancé is studying Computer science and the ammount of math classes is just astonishing.
Also, you gotta think what you are going to study is going to be what you want to work around, if you only want programming because you think is fun but it doesnt really passionate you, you will regret it someday, on the other side, you seem more dedicated to art and I feel like you will enjoy it way better than programming.
Double major. go go go go go

Thanks!! Very true, I understand the workload needed for computer science, I guess im too focused on the end goal: Creating software, coding games, possible AI, etc. more than what I what I actually want to invest my time in learning.

You can learn anything without college, so you can do both if you want. It depends what kind of job you want to get that the qualification will help you with. Personally I would do the computer science for the qualification, and do art in your spare time, buy books, watch videos, etc. you can learn anything.

You're very right, I've learned art from scratch and continue to do so, I'm not that big on trying to get into art classes but It seems like it's very much needed to get into big companies hiring artist/graphic design/digital artist.

Computer science is only really useful for the degree... You don't need to go to college to make programs/games/whatever you want
