How do you respond to scam phone calls?

How do you respond to them?
Do you just yell and hang up at them?
Do you talk to them and waste their time?

What are your best responses to those kind of calls?

I have one or two that seem to work for a while but might have unintended results.

i have a few go to and just play around with others

sometimes i will just say

and when they respond, i ask in an irritated, gruff way which body they are looking for

i told one guy that he sounded sexy and asked him what he was wearing

he laughed and said thanks

another that i said sounded like a hunk of a man called me all kinds of horrible things

it was great. every time he said something, i would act like it turned me on

if you have seen mrs. doubtfire, i screamed, like robin williiams did when calling about the job, and then yelled at my kid to get back in the cage

I usually just say "bye" and hang up on them.

Or that I'm not interested of course, it's probably best to not answer them much.

Just hang up. Don't really care to yell or answer anything.

I just say I am not interested or its not a good time but generally I don't answer the phone unless its a number I recognise or they leave me a voice mail.

I respond by silently thanking my phone provider for the "probable scam call" screen, and I decline to answer them.

Besides, if I don't know the number -- I don't answer the phone.

Me: (silence)

Indian guy: hello hello

Me: what do you want?

Indian guy: you been in accident!?

Me: nah man, but you will be

Me: you're gonna be in an accident

Indian guy: i don't understand

Me: i'm going to break your legs

Indian guy: ♥♥♥♥ you

Me: (laughter)

Then he hung up.

why this is a bad idea

lets assume they know the number they called and they are now angry at you for the above

they ask the rest of their call center to spoof your number when calling to scam people

good luck dealing with that mess

best to just not answer

You worry too much.

This happened an few years back.

I could easily block any outside number.

This isn't 1950.

I don't. I've got better things to do than answer unknown numbers and waste time acting like a lunatic; such gullible individuals who fall for any of this in the first place ought not to have a phone if they cannot be trusted with themselves.
