Any good (newer) games that have good AI/NPCs/Bots?
First off, here are some games I think have pretty good AI that I enjoy.
-GTA IV
-MGS2
-Warbox
-Arma3 (somewhat)
-Watch Dogs 2
-Half-Life(1)
That is just a short list of games I enjoy just watching AI. Arma 3 is good, but too scripted at times.

So are there any games (on steam) that also have good AI and are new? Maybe sandbox, or whatever. I am just looking for a game that is fun to watch AI and "experiment" with them.

Also do not suggest Gmod or Half-Life, I already have those.
Please post atleast somewhat relevant questions.
Thanks alot for helping, if you did.
Last thing, I mean newer games. So somewhat new, I have not bought a game that is older than 2010 recently. But in all honesty, I don't care how old or new it is. I just want a good game that has good AI that I can (with mods or not) experiment with. I am more interested in newer games, because every new game I've seen kind-of has dumb AI.

Stalker I already have, the AI in that is funny as ♥♥♥♥. Love that game.
Which FEAR game exactly? I like their level design but have no clue 'bout their AI.
Nothing pulled up when I searched Fart Cry 2, do you mean Far Cry 2?
Also thanks for condemned criminal origins looks like a nice horror game, which I need.

Far Cry 2 looks like interesting AI, I will check it out after watching some videso of it.
FEAR seems very nice, Splinter is a really cool game with AI. I like how you can blend in with AI and watch them, but damn is there a pricetag on it.

Never purchased from GOG before. Was going to buy SWAT 4 and another on there, is it a good website to use?

Gog is better than Steam in some regards. The only real competition Valve has, actually.

Epic and Uplay and Origin are worthless ♥♥♥♥♥.

C&C generals Zero hour have a mod called Advanced Bots that can be a challenge against players. But yes, these bots sometimes make very dump mistakes.

But what about the Chess >:]

GTA 4 have smart bots when they are on flat ground. NOOSE is very deadly and normal police are good. I like their bots because police actually arrest. They also have decent AI. But like alot, they have some faults. Such as being open to walk their way to death...
Personaly I just dislike GTA 4 AI driving, police are slow and never seem to pit manouver me or anything. But I like GTA 4 more than GTA 5, but like GTA 5's police driving.

I have CnC generals, only have Modern Warfare mod. Is advanced bots difficult to install?

Yes, GTA4 police tactics are good indeed

It should be easy, but I've never tested the mod, I've only watched its gameplays. But mainly there is AI. script tournament going on right now, where interesting tricks are used i would say.

This is tough, because all AI in games have one or two glaring flaws. Splinter Cell's enemies completely break when near doors or ladders (which is to say 50% of the time).

The irony is, even the games with normally "smart" AI have programming issues. The more ambitious you get, the more programming issues you discover over time. HL2 has great AI, but it also has the famous exploit where you become invisible if you hold an object in front of your face. As noted above, GTA IV has the exploit where cops can't calculate fall-damage.If you survive a fall, they just assume they can.

The only "great" AI is the kind that is severely limited by the environment, i.e. the AI that can't accidentally kill themselves in a giant, open, dangerous map. F.E.A.R. has great AI, but that's mostly to do with them being restrained in tiny, simple levels where they can only take cover, flank, or rush. Thief Deadly Shadows's AI is good for the same reason.

Days Gone has amazing AI that will attack each other. RDR 2 is pretty sneaky too. But both those games have their own inevitable bugs.

Well all AI have their issues. HL2 had very smart AI, aslong as you did not abuse glitches. HL2 they flank you and a whole bunch of stuff. Half-Life 1 they also did something alike, personally HL1 seems to have a better AI but that's me.

Never seen days gone, I will look into it.
As for Red Dead 2, I don't think that has good AI. Sure, they look fancy at times. But they fall off boats (walk off) and they kind-of just stand there to be shot at. Unlike GTA 5 which had them take cover, or GTA 4 which was more realistic at the cost of some things.

Thanks alot. I'll look at it.
Personally by AI I meant by individual AI that have their own body. Not like an AI mastermind, or RTS AI.

But RTS AI seeming smart or not, are very important. Sure, the individual AI seems really cool at times, even when they regroup and sometimes share. But RTS AI is really nice to watch, their tactical decisions. Always love it.

They will flank you and ambush you if you aren't careful. I thought it was okay.

The worst part of the AI is that they see through your disguise. Masks are basically worthless. Ruins the whole point of playing as a masked bandit.
