I don't get why so many people kept talking about it.

It's just internet things enhanced. Before tiktok there is gif. before gif there is jpg. It will happen. Without tiktok maybe some company will invent a gif-2 , short video with sound and another company will host it and publish it.

There are many random gifs. good ones. bad ones. exotic ones.

if you're an upright person, by visiting tiltok you might search for those cat puuur short cute clips. or how-to-cook fast recipe clips. those will entertain you.

If you're crazy you will search for crazy people doing crazy things.

That's all that it is.

Everyday there will be those people who kept complaining about tiktok this tiktok that. I'm really tired of seeing those complains. If you don't like it, then don't look at it, it's that simple. It's all internet things. Society is fine. Everything is fine. If they make money out of it, then good for them. It's all acting and honest work. Behind all of it they lived a honest life.

Why are you glad it exists?

Apparently many people get really angry at people just dancing. It means I can easily spot miserable people and avoid them. Complaining about people dancing is the most 1st world problem I can think of.

Personally, I find TikTok dancers cringy and lame. It doesn't invoke anger, though. It's just a thing I don't like, don't care about, and don't pay attention to.

It's like Battlefield, CoD, and Overwatch. They aren't bad games. I just don't care. They don't make me angry, I simply don't play them.

It's the same with TikTok. There are times when I have nothing to do but look at my phone for a few minutes. I'd rather be reading a news app or playing a game than browse for silly videos.

There are some genuinely creative, interesting, and/or funny people on there. However, that's a small portion.

There's dumb lipsync videos. (No one with any real talent is impressed.)
Dance videos. (Get a life.)
Political rants. (Spare me.)
Filming public freakouts. (Because they want to ruin someone's life.)
G-rated memes. (What are "Things your childless Aunt posts on facebook?")
Pro-China propaganda. (Yes, seriously.)

Oh, and their terms allow them to access any device your phone communicates with. Lovely!
