Because in the 1920s the pope officially changed it to Sunday. When they asked him why he said because he is God so he can do whatever he wants.
You do realize that science doesnt say evolution is the only thing that created us right? That was taught in schools back when you were in school but has been disproven many times over since then.
I dunno about that. I didn't have to funnel a huge amount of money into my church. I just showed up. And when I decided not to show up anymore, nobody threatened to smear my reputation or financially ruin me for it.
Evolution is a thing that happens. That is known. But evolution alone isnt how we came to be what we are now. This first theory that official disproved it was called intelligent design theory. Many others have too. We do evolve slightly but we didnt evolve from a bacteria in a swamp and all the different animals didnt evolve from each other starting from an ameba. That was taught in schools in the old days. But its all been disproven since then. They dont even teach that anymore.
Even in a historical perspective, we can see that a handful of people used Christianity only for control.
But there is a small difference between religious and believers that is not understood by most people.
I don´t think most people think that, I think most people just shake their head.
