You really think any of the NT billionaires on the planet would have mainstreamed electric cars? Or took the risk to develop reusable space launch vehicles? Or improve solar and battery technology when there's very little profit in doing so?

Sure, Boring Company, Hyperloop, and about half of Elon Musk's ideas are pretty lame, but at least they're being tried. Not everything sticks to the wall when thrown against it.
