It's worth pointing out that Disney studio's 2D animation vastly and objectively improved in visual quality once they implemented their CAPS process. There's no way in hell The Lion King would look nearly as good using pre-digital methods. Things like sweeping camera movements, near infinite cel planes which is impossible to capture physically, CGI hyenas, wider color gamut. Not to mention how much more time consuming animating is on paper.
So sure, you can go for that traditional authenticity, but what other aspects will be sacrificed?

I’m from a time with Ulysses 31, Dogtanian, Mysterious Cities of Gold etc… Then a bit later the likes of a Mask, Centurions, Visionaries, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors.
Oh yeah, we had Animaniacs.
Cheesy af themes now, but loved them as a kid. So many other cartoons and stuff (Moomins, Smurfs) I enjoyed.
One word: Air pirates.

After all those years since then, we saw that high tech doesn't guarantee happiness nor a good civilization. Even at outside, i can smell the sorrow in thin air. I can feel. Something is.....
