Is it ok to give gifts to female friends who aren't girlfriends?

Is it ok to give gifts to female friends who aren't girlfriends in real life, on their birthday and other holidays such as Christmas? Or is that not socialy acceptable? I have no clue! lol
If it matters, I'm age 26, they're also in their 20's.
I'm asking primarily because I don't want them to think I'm trying to be their boyfriend or anything.

Why wouldnt it be? If someone gave me gifts everyday that'd be alittle too much, but other than that its totally harmless.

I give gifts to ALL the female employees on secretary's day (most were female, sorry this may appear sexist but I did not hire them ) A prudent bribe of chocolates or flowers on this day works wonders in office politics.

If you have to ask this sort of question at 26 years of age, then you're not mature enough to have friends of the opposite sex. People are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ infantilized.

um, why the ♥♥♥♥ not? does having a significant other ban you from being friends with other people? if it does, release that person and never look back, find someone who lets you keep your friends regardless of sex.

It is an odd question — regardless of age.

I can't help but wonder whether he has ever celebrated birthdays and or Xmas before.

If he had, surely he'd know that people don't just receive presents from (future) boyfriends.
