Why is it so hard to have a normal or deep convo with guys?

I'm 23 years old female. Whenever I meet someone my age or below 25 years old, they either just flirt, talk none sense or sexualise everything.
I really long to have just a normal conversation. How's your day been, tell me about your work, even I don't know, talk about religion, politics, global warming.
Honestly not sure if it's just my luck but most of my good experiences with guys, its always if they are 26+, 28+.
I end up losing interest so fast... do young guys just don't care to have intellectual conversation and would rather talk none sense and flirt 24/7?

It is not about the age, it is not about the gender, it is about the personality of the people you meet.
Just out of curiosity, are you working? educated (or studying?) and what is your hobbies? maybe those are places to actually meet people of similar mind.. I know I did back when I studied at the university...

I work as a teacher. (High school level)Most in my work place are older than me which is where I usually find guys who hold more meaningful conversations. I wouldn't say I have much hobbies that would help me meet people so its just online.

That isn't to say they're all horndogs, but this is also the internet.

You've got to remember this is a gaming platform, it might not be the best place to find intellectual conversation. But there's plenty of other avenues if you know where to look.

It's odd tho, to me at least. Online people are same people we would meet in rl. Also even if online, younger guys are always ones I have issues with. So was wondering if its age thing or just my luck online.

Don’t forget men are usually less mature at that age than females. In general at least.

If you really want a deep conversation with a guy, either do so with somebody older. OR, maybe, just maybe, you are ruining it for yourself without knowing because the people you see as chat worthy are not.

Ive been young like anyone and yeah having a great and wonderful discussion with me was hell at the time. Even worse if I was completely dazzled by your eyes.

You understand how hard it is to open up to a deep conversation with somebody you don't trust yet? People nowadays are too judgmental and cynical and lose interest quickly, there's not many worse feelings than opening up to someone and being humiliated.

Usually depending on my mood I might have or not have any interest in a conversation, just leave me to whatever I am doing, you save your breath and energy that way.

That's true. But I wasnt referring only to steam. Even people I meet on steam, I would speak to them outside of steam. Like I have many friends that I met on steam for years. But sadly best I can do is just play because they simply can't hold any other conversation lol.
Or maybe I'm indeed expecting too much from young guy online.

because being online can give you a veil of sorts, you can be anonymous if you want to. why act normal when you know your actions online really wont have much concequences in your offline life?

Actually I think you are so right. I feel that a 23 yo female is waaay more mature than 23 yo male. Which is why I have hatd time dating or being friends with males around my age.
I indeed read somewhere about maturity difference between females and males. That explains it well.
