Still better than the time I tried to make sashimi using salmon bought in the regular meat section in a supermarket and ate it together with a few cups of eggnog - which contains raw eggs.
I hit the bowl literally an hour later.
*tosti hawai was a thing long before pizza became populair.
*I very much love the taste of pineapple.
if you look in stores here and what they offer the basic 4 pizza types all have : tomato sauce & gouda cheese.
with
A ground beef (margarita)
B ham & pinapple (hawai)
C salami (salami)
D mozerella, cheddar, emmenthaler (4 cheeses)
other types are available but more niche and expensive.
if you ask most kids pizza hawai is their favorite type.. if you ask adults they generally tend more to salami.. but offer a pizza buffet to a general crowd and pizza hawai is usually the first to empty proving that while no longer the first pick for many adults it remains generally the most populair one.
Right? Pizza with roast chicken slices, is also delicious!
Depends how it is being served. I order pizza Putaneska with anchovies, it has: tomato sauce, gouda, edam, mushrooms, olives, caper, tiny tomatoes cut in half, and green pesto (basil). Anchovies bitten with a mouthful of that, simply tastes divine! I guarantee you that.
we dutch eat chocolate sprinkles on bread for lunch or breakfast.
as well as chocolate in other shapes like very thin flat bars or wavy flat noodle shape..
-and to us nutella or one of the 100 other types of chocolate spread belongs on bread not on the things it is sold with in other nations..
putting nutella on pancakes or waffles or churios or whatelse it is put on is much weirder than just putting chocolate on a pizza that generally is just a weird shaped sandwich..
so why not?
refined taste I guess.. like our dutch herring and black licorice that we love but foreigners often cannot stomach.

personally even true itallian pizza eaten in napoli I had to say no anchovis.. for while those truelly were the best pizza ever aten.. the anchovis ruined it for me.
just as I love nutmeg but hate kurkuma/laos spice while for many people thats reversed..
At least i collect drinks from different places, since those ship anywhere.
But the moment you put pineapple on pizza, suddenly everybody loses their minds!
It's time to introduce something to savour to the masses.
I hate salted caramel..
mostly because it is overly used in everything even replacing things like syrup waffles appliepie of vanilla custard, popcorn and a gazillion other things.. all of which taste better without any salt and/or caramel..
pinapple on pizza yes please caramel on my icecream popcorn or pie.. no ty!
you want a nice weird flavour combo?..
take fat but mild tasting fish like smoked mackarel.. ad a small drip of a thick sauce made of mayonaise, wasabi and lime than dip the whole thing in unsweetened 99% pure chocolate.. to create a fish bonbon. and add a bit of grinded black pepper on the outside.
Trust but verify. Going to Napoli in March. Gotta drive the Amalfi coast - not during the summer. Will either confirm or deny.
