Off Topic...has changed.
Off Topic... has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies, or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles fought by Steam users bragging about PC's. Steam, and its consumption of currency, has become a well-oiled machine. Off Topic has changed. Steam users use Steam meme's weapons, use Steam emotes. Their PC's enhance and their Steam purchased games. Off Topic control, information control, emotion control... Topic control. Moderators behind the scenes, kept under control. Off Topic - has changed. The age of thread creation has become the age of control. All in the name of Gabe Logan Newell and PC hardware. And he who controls Steam, controls Off Topic. Off Topic has changed... When the board is under total control, Off Topic becomes routine.

Amen brother
Well, that's basically what happens: something either ends sooner while being good, or lives on enough to become bad.

Seems to always be the way.

What?? How dare you. You're letting them know stuff that is never meant to be heard, never meant to be known to the masses.

For this, you will be hunted, detected using FPS boosting software, and blown off the map.

Because total OT control, of different thought processes... Has now become routine.

I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea. I will always be with you. We'll make diamonds from their ashes. Take them into battle with us.

Nanomachine is the general term for a machine ranging in size from one micrometer (one-thousandth of a millimeter) to one nanometer (one-millionth of a millimeter) using MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) technology. An example of a nanomachine would be a protein aggregate resembling the structure of a man-made motor using biomolecules such as DNA, proteins, and resins as parts. Nanomachines are used to alter the bodies of human hosts, enhancing their abilities and their performance in combat situations.
What the heck did I just read?

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Boundaries shift, new players step in; but power always finds a place to rest its head.

Every now and then a thread must be sacrificed to the mods.

I really have no idea what OP is saying...

I have noticed more overall discussion is allowed to continue since the volunteer moderators were eliminated. Some of it's decent, actually. Almost all of it eventually gets entirely derailed by trolls and/or ignorant children.

It's like we've got this big pot of delicious stew. It's really good stew, but someone comes along and puts a little bit of poo in it. Now it's still mostly stew, but there's this little bit of poo that basically ruins the whole thing. Nobody wants to eat stew with poo in it, no matter how small an amount.

The old volunteer moderators often took a scorched-Earth approach and just locked any thread that turned into an argument, or had the potential to turn into an argument. The only threads that were often allowed to stand were shallow, "What's your favorite kind of sandwich?" type threads.

Turns out, it's actually really difficult to remove the poo from the stew once it's been added. It's much easier to just throw out the whole pot.

Without the volunteer moderators, several pots of stew are allowed to continue to simmer. Some of them have poo in them. Even still, until someone taps on the shoulder of a moderator and says, "Excuse me, I think there's poo in this stew.", it's allowed to continue to simmer, and if you taste it you might not even realize there's poo in there at first.

My guess is more often then not ethnicity and idiology is falling under forums rules, and if not it turns rather soure quick.
