point, back before FC2 would become a cult classic. Yes it’s still memed on :X XD

This was back when companies actually gave a fudge about trying to one up the competition and fight for sales when gaming still wasn’t main stream enough to just sit back and watch the cash flow in.
I think the final fight was with between those 3 including the Wii. Till finally comes the PS4 era and Xbox/Playstation along with their fanbases sorta threw in the towel.
Now we only see PC Master Racers and Nintendogs because Nintendo wants to pretend it’s still 2006 and also it’s Nintendo, they have to strive to be the odd ones out. PC Master Race is still mostly for the memes at this point.
What's left after Tsushima now that it's confirmed to be coming to PC? Astro Bot rescue and Ratchet and Clank?

I really liked games like Puppeteer and Tokyo Jungle on PS3, they were so unique. Real shame Japan Studios closed shop and there aren't any interesting exclusives for PS4/5 era.
I bought a PS3 when the first slim model came out and I fell in love with it instantly, and my appreciation of it has only grown. For example, I've got my slim hooked up to both a CRT and 4k monitor and can play HD content no worries using HDMI and use the component cables to CRT for PS1 and PS2 games without having to unplug a thing. I still prefer DS3 over DS4 as I hate the low profile Share and Option buttons, I've still never gotten used to them. I also prefer PS3's XMB, the PS4 interface sucks, it's just so bland.
The console wars don't really mean much these days when it comes to Xbox and PS5, but in my view if it had to be a choice between either I'd have to say PS5 because Xbox Series x/s always online DRM is anti consumer and PS5 doesn't have this issue.
But if the choice is between Xbox and PS5 from a games perspective, it's much of a muchness.
Nintendo obviously doesn't prioritise hardware performance compared to other consoles for Switch generation but at least their investing heavily in developing games in house and making something different to Sony and Microsoft which can only be experienced on their platform. And when you look at how many units Nintendo has shifted with the Switch they're obviously doing something right with their strategy, so really Sony is in the most precarious position because at least in Microsoft's favour they've hedged bets in PC gaming market, and Sony is just selling a game box which can play the latest games, but big deal really.
So, I think Sony is having somewhat of an identity crisis with the Playstation at this point because it doesn't really have compelling reasons to desire the console in the first place, unlike the PS1,2, and 3 which I felt like i "had to have" when they first came out.
