I would suggest pointing out "his phone camera is broken so we were taking them on my phone", that you had offered your own cellphone usage to take those pictures together. That shows your value of friendship.

Then just find a way to send him those photos. All he can be annoyed with is a slight delay upon getting them, because his own cellphone was broken.

If he doesn't accept that, then well, that's entirely his problem. Next time, tell him to buy himself a new cellphone to replace his broken one, then it wouldn't matter at all how you use your own personal cellphone. I wonder if it would of been quicker, cheaper and easier to do that, rather than asking a friend to go out of their own way to help?

Note of warning: Does your friend commonly use you a lot and take advantage of that? Like asking you to drive them somewhere, then refuses to ship in for fuel and just complains you were 5 minutes late. After you went out of your own way for them. If so, it's you who has benefited from his/her raging out and defriending you. They aren't a real friend. They are a leech.

It's one thing to get mad, get some time and then get back together.. But it's an entirely different thing to try and mess with somebody else's life just because he or she didn't do as I'd have expected.

I'd assume, he wasn't your friend at all and didn't value the friendship between two of you in the first place to begin with.

I'd demand a clear explanation from my friend ASAP if I'd ever got into such a mess; If he or she would've refused to answer or wouldn't answer within a day or two, I wouldn't hesitate to forget such a person.

No, you didn't do anything wrong, OP. Your friend just wants some drama to stir up this mundance existence we find ourselves in.
Give them some time to cool down. Don't do anything that would agitate them. At some point, they will probably return to your side.
