Running older (retro games) on newer computers
I've had a lot of issues since I got back into games because I like the older games best. Some have worked find on my PC, bought it 2018 (gaming pc) and others won't even load for me. I've looked for help, but I think the best thing I've found (possibly) is this article. I hope it might help others as I see many posts that showing others having the same issues:

GOG is better for older games, but it is always nice to have sources that help problem solving.

I don't think my fave games are really that old, but tech changes so quickly. I'm having trouble with 2 games so far, the Xing, and the Meridian 157, both are just within about 5-6 years? What do you think about the changes suggested in the article I linked? Have you run into this with a PC? Mine is running win 10 21H2 but neither game will load past the Logo screen, goes to black, then Meridian won't load at all?

Possibly look into mods or custom patches for these games in their corresponding communities. Older titles like this generally have some fan made fixes at least

Thanks so much, I didn't know about "mods" or "patches", I appreciate the info very much!
