Would you use the preffered pronouns
Imagine you meet a person and you see a massive "My pronouns are xe/xim/xir" pin on them. Would you call them xe/xim/xir or would you use "traditional" he/she pronouns when talking with them? If yes/no please say why

If someone can have their pronouns and get triggered if you call them based on how they look instead of they/them, why can't we then have prefferred adjectives like brilliant/handsome and get mad when instead of that, you get called of what is the truth - morbidly obese?

XY - He/Him
XX - She/her
They/Them - Reserved for groups of people, as a generic pronoun for any possibility of person, or when the identity of a person is not yet known because you haven't met them.

Pronouns refer to gender. Well, gender is biological when referring to humans since we come as male or female. (Male/man and Female/woman mean the same thing, just one set of words came from Germanic English while the rest is Latin based).

GENder, GENitals, GENes, indiGENous (certain groups love that word), GENesis, GENuine, GENeration, etc. These words all share a common meaning denoting "to be naturally produced, origin, type of".

If pronouns refer to gender but is solely based on how you feel, then pronouns become impractical because people can feel in millions of different ways. You would need 10,000+ pronouns for every single emotion or "identity" (which is being conflated with personality). Pronouns refer to nouns, so its about WHAT you are, not WHO you are.

So no, I won't be using those pronouns as it does not accurately represent what the person truly is. Using pronouns to refer to true identity is far more accurate as it immediately tells me if they are either male or female. Using pronouns to refer to feelings tells me nothing useful or accurate since they can change on a dime (Demi Lovato ex.).

Or they have too much of them that it doesn't even matters.

The most I will do is flip the typical he/him and she/her pronoums.

Using "it", "they" or whatever else they invent on the spot, is nonsense to me.

I only have one pronoun:

Unquestioned lord and ruler and saviour of the known universe and beyond.

I find it very offensive when people don't use it.
Grim Reaper 17 AGO 2022 a las 3:03 a. m.
my preffered pronouns are Cth/Azath/Nyarlath

No, I'd prefer 'they' don't interact with me if their only interaction is literally policing my freedom of speech, plenty of other people out there for me to talk, and plenty of other people out there for 'they' to talk to.

I would ask what their name is and refer to that person by name from now on, without pronouns.
inb4 they are someone who uses a rolling series of names / usernames as well, which have no consistency.

As far as I'm aware, in the military, everyone is "son".

You realize that (part) is an extremely silly question, right?

Like, if you can't pronounce it then you can't pronounce it.
You can certainly keep trying but most people aren't going to bother -- because it IS a bother at that point.

If you can't learn how to ride a bike without crashing, then you give up and just walk.

Is it not too much to ask for a commonly accepted, reputed word understood by all?
Sometimes new words are absolutely necessary & needed - although, I don't think this is one of those times...

I'm not going to use made pronouns. I'll use they/them with everyone unless they specify he/him or she/her, anything else I will not use.
