You wouldn't walk up to a person and say, "Hi, how are xe today?" You'd say, "Hi, how are you?"
Preferred pronouns are only used when talking to a third party, "Hey Patty, I'm looking for Yimmi, have you seen xim today?"
And if Yimmi isn't there, how the hell are you supposed to know what xis pronoun pin says?
if you think the pronouns they use don't describe them, then you disagree with who they are
...have people seriously never learned about politely asking?
Because you don't use a person's preferred pronouns when you're talking directly to that person. Only when you're talking about that person.
I identify as First Person Singular. My preferred pronouns are I/me/my and they must be used when talking about me.
Can I just put a bunch of letters together and demand to be called by them?
Why? Because i don't want to.
Also, people who use he/him or she/her are forced to say so now, despite not being part of that culture.
It's a rather uncommon predicament, admittedly, but woe to anyone who struggles with consonant clusters when the insisted pronunciation of the letter X of those words is ks. Or even h (woe be to the French!). Yes, that's a valid pronunciation.
By the way, what are your preferred pronouns? I plan to talk about you with my friends later and I don't want to be disrespectful."
I identify as alien, you must use my preferred pronouns "Ayy Lmao"
When you're not around, I'll try to use "Ayy Lmao", but no promises.
Don't need people trying to police my language for personal reasons
Its exhausting and completely disregards any troubles I may be facing, basically making every sentence about them
