Very hard to mention a person who doesn't want to be identified as a traditional person.
So I've never had to make that decision.
However, in the unlikely event that someone tried to "correct" my grammar, I would politely inform them that they don't decide what words I can use.
It should be: It/This/These
You're not wrong, but i'm a simple minded person. And i'm going off of a memory that's getting to be a few years old so don't bite me if the details are mixed up.
