People's opinion about the new Marvel Phase 4/5
I find it funny that everyone wants to ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan about the new Marvel shows, when they didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ at all back when it was still "Agents of Shield" and wasn't even considered canon. Now all of a sudden, when they are canon, people want to act like they give a ♥♥♥♥? I swear, people are determined to hate the new Marvel movies and shows just because they're not Infinity War/Endgame 2.0. "Comic book fans" my ass!

Well yeah, of course being canon makes a difference. Why would it not? You can ignore it if it's not canon, but when it is, uh oh why did Dr. Strange 4 start with Spider-Man trapped in jello? Too bad, should have watched episode 9 of She-Black-Panther's Burger King Adventure!
Agents of the Shield was an era where current gen masses we’re still children…or I should say target market. Gen Z or whatever.

Anyway my knowledge of Marvel stuff is pretty limited.

Right, but my point is, people didn't much care for the shows in general up until now. It's kinda like how the Halo novels are canon to the games, but while strictly speaking for myself, I imagine there are plenty of other people who didn't read the books and only played the games. Just the same, plenty of people only watched the movies and didn't care for the shows. So why are they complaining now? Unless they did care for the shows, in which case, every show has its own flaws and good things.

Most Marvels shows rarely go past Season 1 because Marvel isn't trying to make a series out of all of them. Only Loki so far has been cleared for a Season 2. The MCU isn't exactly 1:1 with the comics, so "comic book fans" who expected that shouldn't be surprised. I mean, hell, Thanos in the comics killed the universe to impress Lady Death, while in the MCU, he culls half of it to save on resources. Yet, people loved Infinity War. You got some people hating on the new shows without even watching them. I'm not going to say it's because the recent ones have a female protagonist, but it sure feels like that's one of the main reasons.

I would say these aren’t for comic fans. They have to be changed a lot from the original material and I just don’t like a lot of these shows and movies, well at least at a lower rate compared to the comics. There is a different vibe and they are meant for a different audience.
i personally don't care about canon. Canon only exists for serious literature and university studies. Pop culture pablum for the masses doesn't have canon.

but i really like the MCU's direction with the new stuff. She-Hulk is awesome, and I'm looking forward to Fantastic Four, and Wakanda Forever.
I still manage to enjoy the movies, but it doesn't change the fact, that there is a significant drop in visual and narrative quality, due to Disney rushing the productions and over saturating the market. At this point there is just too many things to watch and not enough interest or motivation to do so.
I have no care for mcu past endgame tbh and from what I heard the films in recent years are really mid I did enjoy Spider-Man No Way Home tho

It probably is. But the canon thing is also a much bigger deal than you're giving it credit for. I don't want to watch a series. It's a format I don't care for, and so far it's all B characters I don't care about... with the exception of Wandavision, which sucked for its own reasons. (Well, that and Falcon/WS, which I really do kinda want to watch sometime because Falcon was actually my favorite Avenger period, lol.)

So making all this junk canon just means I don't care about the property anymore. If you're gonna make me sit through ten hours of Groot's Best Friend Troog and the Whimsical Office Building to understand what's going on in Iron Man 7, I'm just not gonna watch Iron Man 7.

Also, for the record I've never read a single Marvel comic book. A couple of DC, a couple Image. So whether it's true to source material makes no difference to me. If I say it sucks and you tell me it's accurate, well that just means the comics suck too.
