That's unfortunate & I hope it gets better because when you read the declaration of independence & the constitution, it sounds like people who hated political corruption.
That;s an easy one: the lefties who control the media label everyone they don't like "terrorist" and "right wing" and "literal hitler" and a lot of other things -- so those claims will turn up in nice clusters.
Good ol' days the terrorist was supposed to blow up something or hijack a plane, now enough to make a selfie or just retweet a meme. but mass of people either don't see a difference or do, but deny it.
Practically a lot of puritans who didn't want to adapt to changing times/laws, took their ball and left.
Much of which, was stuff like "I need to be able to keep marrying kids". Being religious refugees, that's one of the reasons why they were adamant the separation of church and state.
So if should public opinion sway against their "religious beliefs", they would still be able to practice legally.
Keep in mind, we did start as a British colony but we had no say on taxes of the goods being shipped to us, which is hugely part why we revolted.
Either way the point of all this is that Roe is gone and it's never coming back as it shouldn't because abortion is murder.
It honestly feels like this would change absolutely NOTHING.

Now here is my controversial opinion. When it comes to SCOTUS I always side with the Conservatives when it comes to how their decisions should work which is that their job is to "uphold the constitution" and not "Reinterpret the constitution".
If you want federally mandated abortion minimums... Then the government should get off its butt and do something.
It shouldn't be up to SCOTUS to act counter to the constitution JUST because the government itself is broken.
TLDR: "Even if the constitution said we have to eat babies... Scotus should side with it. It is the government's job to create new laws not scotus."

There is no "left" in this country. Everyone has flipped to the right. Liberals are pro-war, pro-police, pro-lockdown, pro-censorship. These are not leftwing anti-imperialist values. Certainly not "enlightened"
I'm shocked to hear about the reasons for separating church & state, I didn't know that. I think the colonies' reasons for revolting were correct but my covert reason for the post is that the rest of the western world needs the USA to get it's ♥♥♥♥ together and pronto
A thing to always remember is that it is FAR FAR harder to get the FBI to agree that a person was a left-wing terrorist... versus right-wing. (For example we have had an assassination attempt on a scotus justice... and the person's motives were considered a mystery)
It is why I don't put that much stalk into those statistics.
