Being slow
They aren't good at all.
Is this thread prone to huge arguments? Is every thread prone to huge arguments? What´s huge - and what is an argument of an ok size? Or is it a rule so one could close or delete any thread as someone sees fit?
What are the benefits anyway to exclude certain topics just for the sake of it? "I don´t want to read it" can´t be an argument, because there are other topics, too - and nobody is forced to read or write anything.
Thank You for Your kind answers in advance.
Here the forums are a by-product which is good to bind the costumers to the platform, and it´s good for devs or publishers, who wouldn´t do their own forums. It´s also nice for advertisement if You type anything game related into a search engine and get steam results, too.
and while I would want action undertoken when people do the most inapropiate things.. post say nudepicks, or when bots start spamming advertisements... other than that kind of extreme things.. a person willing to just talk.. even if I may not like what he/she is saying should be able to do so.
-> so far I had 1 post removed +a short 1 day ban.. since the new modding situation.. and it was a post that was mildy critical of the LGBTQ stuff and woke in speccific... (in contexts of a discussion about disney)
**and it annoys me I am not allowed to say my point... why the pervers view of others get all the space..
***I gues even steam has gone woke sadly...
but than again there are games sold on steam that I deem so unapropiate and offensive that I would have them removed yet steam promotes them regardless..
I do hope it does not get worse in the sence what was already happening.. that almost every user does things that technically against the rules.. but no active moderating is taking place at all..
and wheither you get banned or your post removed is more related to other users complaining about you *aka bad luck and populism* than actually if in the context of everyday behavior of all users you fell out of line...
->
kinda like every biker on the road each and every one never has lights on in the dark..
technically it is an offense that can get you a 70 euro fine...
but if you actually GET that fine.. it feels more like you being robbed.. because nobody gets ever fined for that at all and you more feel like mr cop go do a real job.. than you doing something wrong..
**
the chance to get away with something.. is way more important in moderating.. as well as equal implentation of the law... than the severeness of a punishment.. to get the behavior one wants..
It's called freedom, I'm glad you enjoy it. :)
You know things are bad when even the nice guys are criticizing moderation.
Not really.
Blatantly prohibited or easily discovered "bad" threads get sent off to oblivion, still.
But, it does seem like certain threads that may have once been deemed inflammatory and certain exchanges between posters are not as heavily or as heavily-handed moderated as they may have once been.
Consider this a lull in the production of moderation actions while the mod-machine is being lubed up. The beatings will recommence, in abundance, once it's ready.

and paid mods sucks, there is clearly not enough for them to fill the quota so all they do is try to resolve problems as fast as they can wwithout looking into context or the whole thread just to reduce the massive piling heap of reports that come by
