I had a dream that I was jumping a cliff and my real foot kicked the wall.
So yes, a dream can "influence" a trauma. :marijaonlooker:

…No, that's lunacy. You cannot be traumatized by a dream, nor a nightmare. Nor by sleep paralysis, for that matter. Trauma - when it actually happens - occurs during your waking hours in your day-to-day life. It doesn't happen online, nor in your sleep.
trauma can very much happen online, if a severe aversion of mine towards a dreaded figure has anything to say about it

"They call it the american dream, because you've got to be asleep to believe it."

That quote has always made me laugh.

But I suppose dreams can cause traumas, same as implanted memories can. A child with frequent nightmares could become traumatized by them.

I used to live by a river as a small child and had a dream a croc came out of the water to eat me. And that one got me pretty bad back then.

I have been traumitized for sure by daydreams/tulpamancy before.

Eh, I have PTSD and I am not traumatized by my dreams, probably because I am sedated as hell before bed. Also, cannabis helps for no dreaming. Sorry mods, but this is just an adult thing. I am not promoting anything.

I guess if someone is sensitive enough, and cannot tell reality from dreams, they will be traumatized by dreams.

But having PTSD, I know the flashbacks and nightmares are from the actual trauma, not the nightmares...if the traumatic event never happened, I would not have supposed traumatic dreams.

I suppose I am kind of desensitized to any that I have had, by now....traumatic event was over a decade ago. I would blame nightmares on the original trauma....and that it's just a repeat. It's not the nightmares, that's just a copy of the original. Sure, I had to get medicated in order to not have many flashbacks (the ones I do have are really weird Rorschach-y shadowy wiggling things/figures in front of my vision).

I would love to destroy the original trauma. There is stuff that destroys the trauma, but most of it is highly illegal. I loved studying trauma in college, since I wanted to look up how to cure PTSD. Hopefully I can eventually cure my problem.

Dreams is your subconscious processing information taken from your personal experiences, movies, tv shows, and whatever else you have seen. Therefore it wouldn't create any traumas, but could resurface them to try face and overcome. It's kind of a way for your mind to replay out scenarios. Almost like therapy.

Living inside a dream and waking up, is what usually causes a trauma.

No, they quite literally cannot. The internet cannot hurt you, nor can anyone hurt you through it. You always have the option to log off. To turn it off and walk away.

Thin skin and weak minds, that is what leads one towards the delusion of the internet being able to hurt you. If anything the dross and detritus that exhibit such defects are the ones who hurt the internet. Because they hurt anything and everything by demanding that all be held back for the sake of their ultimately insignificant feelings. Because anything new, innovative or avant garde upsets them.

They're the same types who in both prior and current years would demand that books be burnt alongside the people who wrote them. Who demand that anything and everything be sanitized, be made puerile, and as unable to either offend or amuse. And why do they do this? Because they are unable to be happy so long as anyone else is. Because change frightens them, due to their inability to control themselves let alone anyone or anything around them. Because they would rather society stagnate and decay, due to how rotten they are inside and out.

They don't belong in society and should be driven out. Every single last one of them.

I'm not sure if dreams can cause trauma. I've done many things(some very gory)in dreams which you would assume would traumatise you but they don't haunt me.

Yes. There are dreams that can cause you to experience a lifetime and wake up a different person.
