Remember the golden days from 2010-2016? Remember the days youtube was youtube and not a cash grab owned by karens and snowflakes?

It's obvious they now only care about money than content creators and are more likely to support corporation that pays them money. That's why they introduced COPPA no one asked for which ruined everyone's childhood. You stumbled across a cartoon from your childhood and wanted to express your wonderful times in the comments? Well to f*cking bad you can't anymore because "it would endanger kids we must think of the kids!" Dude that is so stupid and is like going into the house full of drug dealers and saying "Stop the drugs it is hurting kids like little Timmy!" Let youtube be youtube. Also, youtube kids exists for a reason.

And don't even get me started on why they removed the dislikes 6 months ago. It's obvious; greed and censoring opinions they don't like to hear. If you have a different opinion than us you are getting censored.

I really wish youtube gets competition soon so we can all abandon ship on the other platform and leave karens and snowflakes to rot in hell for what they have done

YouTube has definitely gone severely down in user experience. I started using adblockers because all I get is obvious scam advetisements. Or something inappropriate.

Absolutely, youtube stopped being cool like a decade ago. There is something sketchy about most youtubers, it feels like they just wanna sell me something. There are however some small and honest youtube channels that I like to watch. Those are worth it.

I love Youtube. It helpfully points me towards mature singles in my area and jaw dropping, untouched historical photos that I simply will not believe. What's not to love?

On PC web browsers you can tell youtube not to recommend channels by clicking the ellipses that appear when you hover over a video on the home page and in the sidebar on video pages. Click it and then click "Don't recommend this channel" whenever you are recommended channels you are not interested in.

By doing that I get very little in the way of trash channels recommended to me.

After you initially scroll down the page blocking all the crap you don't want, you won't be seeing so much garbage from youtubers and channels similar to their's. So, no more Mr. Beast, no more jojo, no more top 10 top 5 channels or whatever other stupid crap you don't want to see.

The algorithm will then mostly only recommend content similar to your interests. It might take a little time to catch up with your preferences based on what you are blocking.

For ads, there are plugins for that.

I clicked not interested, do not recommend and even banned the websites, yet they're still frequently in my recommendations feed?

Like what? DuckDuckGo? Just got exposed of shady dealings with Microsoft. Bing and Yahoo are absolutely terrible...

Opera is a browser and still uses Google search engine, and idk if I can fully trust Opera regardless since it's owned by China and China lies about a lot of stuff, and it actually has already falsely marketized the browser.

I find the ads annoying and for that reason I want another video sharing site to steal Youtube's crown. Nothing else bothers me because I don't even login there.

Nothing really comes close to youtube at the moment for content. And I don't see anything getting close for sometime to come. Ads are very annoying but it's a small price to pay for free content.

Are there still people who do not have Ublock Origin installed? Go and fix that problem quickly.
