he's an amazing man who teaches people to think for themselves, ...
That is indeed one of the positions / goals of his lectures - however, ironically, people who like him typically just ride every word he says, taking them like gospel, & in essence (where the irony comes in) not actually thinking for themselves. *lol*

He has said many things that I agree with as well as many things that I disagree with.

I like how people, especially on the right, are such fans of his arguments against "compelled speech" but as soon as some game developer wants to self-censor something from their games or just not include something that is in high-demand among the right, then this is considered a "woke agenda" and those developers should include that in their game or not be bought from.

There's a variety of responses like that but at least some of them are making an argument for compelled speech, because I guess they only dislike it when it comes to things that they don't want to have to say themselves.
If people were truly against compelled speech, then they'd be against all forms of compelled speech, not just the ones that don't align with their values.

...Jordan never says "Just agree with me." never, not once.
He always puts his own thoughts out there, good - bad - neutral - people come to their own conclusions and that's the noblest thing one can do. "Just judge my ideas."

I respect the man and his teachings because they're worthy of respect, not because he says to.

if you think I don't think for myself, then that's okay. You're free to think whatever you want to, too.

Indeed he didn't and I didn't say that he did.

Reading can be kind of hard, but just give it another try, will ya? :steamfacepalm: :thepro:

problems like that don't disappear when you look away from them, though
for instance, i won't stop feeling dysphoric just because i try to ignore how the expectation people have of me being a guy doesn't line up with who i actually am– i'm not even capable of just ignoring it, and even when i was (primarily due to ignorance) it still had a negative impact on me
Well, truth be told, most of us will probably be long gone before those issues are even close to being solved. The best one can do is focus on how to improve who they are, rather than the world they live in, and do so genuinely.
with that attitude, sure
if we keep refusing to make changes in our understanding of things, if we keep sticking to traditions and refusing to let our cultures evolve, if we refuse to even question how things are organized, none of the broader issues that affect people will be solved
but many of them can be remedied with a change of attitude

I don't know who that is but it seems like he makes a lot of people mad so he's probably right and you should be ashamed.

Great. That's all I need to know about your level of maturity.

That he's on SSRIs and benzos doesn't bode well for his advice on how to live. Do as I say, not as I do.

Well to be fair wasn't he crying because of the accumulation of stupid hate he gets? In the Piers Morgan interview he also mentioned the instance where he got compared to Red Skull. A fictional Nazi. I think he became more in touch with "reality" and emotions so to speak because he had a near death experience. Quote "extremely severe autoimmune reaction to food" Jordans daughter made a video on it. I believe he was also in a coma because of this.
