its most likely a fake account that is made to look like the original one
Could be a phishing link; YouTubers usually don't expose themselves to random people, and usually, they don't offer random people gift cards at a whim. Also, do you watch her videos?

hmm.. Sounds reasonable. Never had a YouTube chat before. How can I click the account, the message is send from?

Yes. Seems a bit weird for a 12 million sub YouTuber to make a personal friend request. Can I not click the account, the message is sent from?

Better not click the link. Also, ask her if she's really her, but in a friendly way. If you're a fan of that YouTuber, then you must ask that profile what's her interests, her regrets, her secrets, that only she knows. If she can't answer those questions, it's clear that, well, that's an impersonater.

Did (very politely ofc). But she's a 12 MILLION sub YouTuber & didn't get an answer. Seems weird she'd sent out genuine click & send friend requests.

Think I got a bit carried away at first hahaha xd
But stopped quickly, when I saw that site, looks quite shady.

Is there no way to actually view another persons account from your damn friendlist on YouTube? x)

If there's no response in a 2 or 3 hour period, then it's safe to say that it's a bot, and bots are usually trouble.

Some of those links will automatically download malware onto your PC.

These are usually remote access Trojans that are used to steal sensitive information.

We used to create RATs [remote access Trojans] and attach them to file hosting sites.

It was for practice, which was not for malicious purposes.

In your case, the user is not authentic and it's called social engineering.

This type of scam was one of the first things i learnt about.

I could open it in a sandbox:p That should be alright? Doubt it's real, but now I'm curious.

I wouldn't recommend a sandbox or even a virtual OS.

Getting rid of Remote Access Trojans can be done with malwarebytes though.

It decimated all of the rootkits and RATs that we've tested.

To check if you are a human complete 2 offers below. That is a straight up survey scam. And should be avoided.

meh.. No sandbox either.
Yes, way too shady. Got a bit too fired up at first I believe.

Verification of humanity is almost always done through ReCaptcha.

Surveys usually don't effectively work - so that's reason to assume that it's a scam or just some advertising ruse.
