Pho restaurant - need advice
Here is a new Pho restaurant near me. I used to have Asians at work I would go with to this kind of place. Or, rather I would go with them. I am retired now so I don't have anyone to go with now. Methinks this is a very Americanized version of Pho.
I do not like spicy food. Or even very strong flavors. I am a wimpy mayonnaise person.
So ... what looks good on this recipe and what should I avoid?

It's been a long time since I've been to a Pho restaurant, but I don't remember it being very spicy. Typically, the spicy items (chili flakes, hot sauce, etc) are served on the side.

I honestly don't see anything on that menu that would come to the table with any level of heat at all.

Most mayo thing on the menu? Probably the pad thai with chicken. Still very tasty though.

If you get a Pho soup made the correct way it should be clear/yellowish liquid with no flavour and it's up to you to add Hoisin or Sriracha sauce to taste. The soup is virtually flavourless unless you add these things, but I enjoy it after I pump loads of both sauces into the broth.

This entire menu is completely americanized, this is as far away from any real asain kitchen as you can be.

As no real asian restaurant would dare to even mention to serve fries on their menu, also the mixture of japanese, chinese, vietnamese & thai inspired dishes are a bland & dead give-away for a typical white-people-friendly restaurant.

Highly likely most of these dishes will taste the same, as nowhere in this entire menu are any specific sauces of types off asain BOLD spices mentioned.

To me this looks like a very bland & plain menu & will be perfect for any wimpy mayonnaise white man!

PS: it is always good to mentione that you don't like spice food when ordering.

I can't see the link direction (different country) but I eat pho often and you can just ask for no chili. Usually they have it in a separate dish along with the bean shoots.

Poo restaurant? Avoid everything that gets server there.

Anything with shrimp, shrimp paste, or pork is at risk.

The sandwiches are probably pretty spicy.

Some of the spring rolls might be, especially the minty ones as spice is a traditional mint accompaniment, but it doesn’t look like they would be here.

Sauces such as hoisin are for the meat not the broth. If you squirted sauce in the broth and started mixing people in Vietnam would be horrified.

Well ... I don't think they can see me all the way from there. So it should be OK. I am not gonna post my meal on social media. :steamhappy:
