I think my dad is crazy?

So, during the last few weeks, my dad has been acting up really weirdly. He started saying strange things and doing awkward things.

For example.. the other day, he was watching Piers Morgan on TV, and he suddently sat right in front of the TV, and tried to talk to Piers Morgan as he told him "snooping as usual I see".

Yesterday, he was cooking dinner, he threw an onion accross the kitchen and yelled "Why is my precious rocket ship drifting off into deep space?!?! Why?!? Why?!?!".

Three weeks ago, I found him running all around the house, telling himself he'll have to give himself a promotion.

He hasn't been acting up like that before. I'm aware he's old (about 80 years old), but I know my dad, he isn't dumb like this. Does anyone know from what I've explained, if he might be affected with some sort of disorder? Thanks.

No, he actually is a Vietnam war veteran. He doesn't eat that much junk food, he eats Skittles and Miss Vickie's chips, but that's about it.

I'm not sure what ''trolling'' is. All I know is that it looks like the word ''Troll'', and a Troll is a mythical creature. I'm asking for legitimate help.

Then follow up with forty hours of NPR programming. If the symptoms persist, introduce some CNN and BBC until things improve.

My dad isn't a republican nor a democrat. He voted for the American Solidarity Party in 2016. He does watch CNN, but mostly he watches History channel and CBS. I'll try to introduce him to BBC if it helps.

He doesn't watch much Fox News, although he used to really, really like Shepard Smith before he left. When he left the network, he cried about it for a bit. He was really, really, really sad.

I think it has already been settled, OP. You should find serious medical help for your father if this is true instead of maintaining discussions in this Steam thread (except for updates on how he is doing, if it is true).

Speaking of which, I have some updates.

I tried to make him watch BBC like someone suggested, now he's trying to learn how to do a British accent. Whether that's good or not, I'm not sure. I tried to give him some medicine, and while he seems more calm, he started randomly saying quotes from the Godfather movie trilogy (which he loved). I think we're making some progress.
