LinkedIn Refund?
So it all started back on July 22nd. I tried out LinkedIn's one month of premium for free. Looked around a little bit and never came back. On August 31st i placed some money on my credit card and after few days of spending i got a message from my bank telling me that i'm running low on cash. At first i thought there's some issue with the bank but didn't really look in to it.
Few days pass and yesterday i tried purchasing something for 12 euros and i was declined. I didn't get it since i should have had about 20+ euros left. Checked my email and i saw that i was billed for 21.99 euros on the 31st August. I flipped ♥♥♥♥, i was never told i will be billed annually after my free month expired on LinkedIn. Canceled my membership, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tried giving me discounts while canceling.
I contacted their support last night explaining everything and when i woke up this morning they told me they won't offer me a refund.
Now my payment was done through paypal and what are my chances of getting a refund if i request it through paypal? Should i try requesting it through the bank? Have a feeling people at my bank have no clue what are they doing what so ever, so i'm sceptical about asking them.

Usually there's something in the small print about getting charged after the free period. That's how it is for Netflix. You sure you didn't miss that?

Didn't see it there at all. I was told that i will be billed 0 euros for the free premium membership, that's it. Only way to see that i'm gong to be billed is if i go to my Premium account and clicking on a small text "See all Premium features" and then on the right side of the screen there's a collapse button "Billing Information", in there i can access my payment method and billing history. User interface and user experience is really ♥♥♥♥ on that website.
If you have to enter a credit card or debit card information to get a free month 9 times out of 10 they will bill you unless you cancel before the month is up. If you don't cancel that is your agreement to be charged the fee.

You didn't see it because you likely didn't read *all the words*. It most definitely told you that you would be billed after the free month if you did not cancel. Thats why you need to read absolutely everything without just clicking "okay" or "continue" or "next" when filling things out.

Why did you think you were inputting your payment information for a free trial if there wasn't a chance they'd bill you?

As the person above said, pretty much every free-month service has in small print that if you do not cancel after the end of the free trial you will be billed. i'd say it's even more than 9 times out of 10. i'd say it's like 99 times out of 100, or more....

If the trial is 100% free with no chance of being billed then entering your payment info wouldn't be necessary at all, unless you *chose* to continue with a pay service.

i'm sorry you *missed* the fine print or only skimmed the words when you were signing up for the free trial. But.. the words were there. Just looking at the LinkedIn website now you can see it all over the place in the fine print about doing the free trial it says stuff like:

-You'll have to input a credit card number to get the free trial.
-Your free trial will convert to a paid subscription and your card will be charged one month after you redeemed the free trial.
-In order to avoid getting charged for the next billing period, you need to cancel at least one day before the billing date listed here.
-We'll send you an email reminder giving you the opportunity to cancel seven days before you're charged.
-You'll need to cancel your free trial before the date listed here in order to avoid being charged on your card.

Now you might say "well that was last updated 29 days ago so they likely changed that after i signed up".. but:

The card you used to sign up for a free trial for any LinkedIn Premium subscription will automatically be charged one month from the date you signed up. If you wish to avoid being charged for your free trial, you must cancel the trial one day prior to the auto-renewal. You can see your Premium free trial auto-renewal date on the Manage Your Account page of LinkedIn.com.

This was last updated 6 months ago, way before you say you signed up.

And i am willing to go through the sign up process for the free trial myself to find where it warns you about being billed during the sign up process too, if you don't believe it's there in the sign up process as well.

Too bad i'm a dumbass and didn't cancel it.
I've read that some even got billed for an entire year, so i was lucky it was just a month. Some managed to get a refund from them directly but i can't because i agreed to Terms and conditions while upgrading my account.

Yeah Hanomaly, few problems. I never got that email warning me in the first place. They never warned me.
Here's the second problem, i tried creating an account right now and realized it's not the same... because i just remembered that i signed through another website, which is Lynda.com since LinkedIn is it's parent company... my bad.
Now i have tried registering through Lynda and yeah, i might have missed such critical information by rushing through it because before that I've spent a day or two trying to connect LinkedIn and Lynda together so i can get that free month. The issue was on their side, probably some server issues or who knows what. I was probably pissed and tired which made me misread a lot of stuff. A lot of that is blury to me, so i guess it's my fault then.

But i still ask the question, will i be able to get a full or partial refund through paypal or bank?
