What do you think of Genesis / Phil Collins?
I'm attending a live tribute to them on Saturday called Trick Of The Tail. Fingers crossed.

I'd rather watch Peter Gabriel jerk around on a segway

I like the songs "Mama", "Tonight Tonight" and "I Can't Dance".

I grew up with phil collins songs in the 80's, great singer/drummer. I had his albums first on vinyl then cassettes then finally switched to CD's. I just feel singers these days don't match the singers of the past, maybe it's just me or im just a little to old and want the old days back, I don't know.

I would of loved to watch him live on stage. Hope this tribute band/singer does phil proud OP.

Phil Collins - good voice, even better drummer.

Thing is, of the prog bands that went in a pop direction in the 80s (Yes, Rush, Pink Floyd), I think Genesis ended up with the weakest albums of the bunch.

The guy is hanging on by a thread nowadays

The best drummer in the history of music. And yes, I'm discounting even Ringo.

Phil Collins is still alive?

After checking his images, he looks well for being 71. That's amazing.
He retired as he can't drum like he used to. Great band, and great solo career.

Land of confusion is a great song.

"Tribute"?....

I think that Genesis / Phil Collins is alright... I have no idea what a "tribute ( band? )" would be as good as the original so I can't say what I think of some random tribute band.

Edit: Have to spell everything out in little words I guess so everyone keeps up...

Never listened to much Genesis as such, but I really like quite a number of Phil Collins songs.

You missed his final tour not that long ago, but he is one of the better singers/groups of that era. If the tribute band does even half as well as he did, you should have a blast.

He was one of the great artist of his time (not that he's dead but he stopped doing stuff)

A tribute band copies the songs and style of another well-known band. Usually one that is no longer performing.

:steamfacepalm:

I know WHAT a tribute band IS... I don't know how GOOD one would be... :lunar2019deadpanpig:
