Dirty Denuvo now coming to Nintendo Switch
Read all about it. Denuvo virus making its way to Nintendo switch.

What purpose does this serve other than punishing legit customers?

Irdeto's website and domain being spotty and mostly down for the best part of the day would be funny and ironic, if those guys weren't in charge of keeping the few games with Denuvo I own functional.

Irdeto likes to make it look like they work in partnership with big names when said big names aren't actually even aware of their existence most of the time. Sony and Valve last year, now Nintendo... None of those companies are using their software. Not a single game on console implemented it, none using their new SecureDLC either. Only two games are currently using Denuvo Anti Cheat on PC, one obscure porn game and a dead MP shooter (everything pointing to devs having been paid to advertise it). Even their flagship product, Denuvo Anti-tamper's adoption rate has been constantly dwindling for the past five years. The infamous SecuROM sold better, even with the lawsuits.

Their product page claims that the middleware has protected 1000+ games despite last count being only 267 games using DAT and 3 using DAC. (and removed from more than 70 titles since). Despite their boast of being a world leader in digital security Irdeto itself does not seem to be a leader of anything. They don't appear in any software analyst's publications for the 20, 30 or even 150 best cybersecurity firms... they're not even a footnote[threat.technology] in lists limited to their home country, the Netherlands. All the awards featured on their product pages are phony vanity awards[en.wikipedia.org] received in exchange for a 800$ fee[cybersecurity-excellence-awards.com]... you can even create your own custom category to compete all by yourself for a 1800$ "sponsor" fee. Their main revenue appears to come from designing tv decoder boxes exclusively for the African Market. :clickbutton:

And don't start me on their parent company, Multichoice group with links to human rights violations, fraud and ironically, multiple copyright infringements. There's no doubt only individuals with a strong financial interest would stand to defend it. :clickbutton:

Basically, whenever someone complains about Denuvo, they always make up claims that aren't correct.
People never like being honest about it.

EVER.
I've never seen anyone actually be honest about it.

When properly done, no one can even tell it's in the game.
Also, gone are the days of the Arkham Games, and their terrible FPS nightmares because of Denuvo.

Also, last time I checked, it doesn't even call home, Denuvo.

FPS drops are bad, but it's not even done in every single Denuvo game.

Can you name one. Can you name one lie about denuvo, because performance drops -are- a thing, it's a third party software suite dropped on top of a game, it's GOING to effect performance

Yes. As I've even explained, it does not destroy performance if done correctly.
And that's demonstrated multiple times.

Also, I don't believe it will be on Switch games at all.
Because the Switch isn't designed for DRM.

I think this is just a bit misunderstanding.
Sigh.

Also, who thinks Nintendo is a garbage company?
THat makes no sense.

I never had any issue with that DRM at all. In the past there were much more dirty DRM's in games, Tages come to mind.

Learn to format your posts plese these spaces are annoying. Also, I never said it "Destroys" performance, I said it effects it, with a purely negative impact implied. No ♥♥♥♥, a third-party add-on suite is that runs while the game is in operation is going to effect the game's performance.

All DRM is unacceptable, debating which one is worse is just semantics really.

Anyone who thinks Nintendo is a garbage company is the biggest liar in the history of the world.
LOL wut.

Also, misinformation about Denuvo makes no sense.
They are being really trashy though.

you can never claim I am not formatting my posts correctly.
That's how you are supposed to write posts.

By breaking up paragraphs to stop them from being jumbled.
You clearly know nothing about DRM, spoiler, Steam is DRM.
Now, stop spreading misinformation.
Sigh.

People don't care because its only a negative for consumers, no matter what.

And the company should focus on what consumers would want to buy, rather than act like people are criminals.

Den is added for investers, not for anyone else.

You really don't understand paragraph structure if you think stopping every single sentence for a new line is good formating. More seriously; Yes, steamworks is a DRM and that's why I have stopped buying games from steam which require steam to run. Since you can't point to anything I actually got wrong I will now come to the conclusion I am spreading no such false information.

That';s about it. Why investors even accept it I will never know

OP going for that community ban speedrun?
What? Why would he be banned?

That won't stop a single thing. Most emulators try to achieve hardware perfect results and practically all of them feature debuggers so the DRM will be found and removed either way.

Steamworks is a DRM. Many steam game run without steamworks. Steam has a DRM in it as an options, which is steamworks. Yes it means I have to ask everytime I buy a game herE(which I suually just go to GoG now) but we do need to make the distinction
