how to edit undertale sprites? (read description)

right off the bat, i know about translatale. i know those steps, and im trying to follow them.

my main concern here is that i want to change the BATTLE sprites of undertale. you know, the black and white ones. ive already found a sprite sheet with what i want to change. basically, i want to take sans' battle sprites and replace them with sanesssss from sr pelo's underpants. (lol) ive downloaded a gif of his animation and split it into frames, but looking at the sprite sheet it isnt as simple as i would have hoped it be. there are sprites everywhere that are separated by limbs, which would either mean i would have to do the same with my sprites or i just cant do it.

on spriters resource, all the sprites are grouped together normally. i figured they either took the time to combine them or found somewhere with all the sprites already put together.

would there be a way to simply put in the sprites i want to use or do i have to go through the trouble of separating them by limb?
