In any camera that can even begin to be deemed as "good" it needs to have a good mechanical-zoom, at the least.
However also keep in mind, many cameras of any kind you try to compare, can be hard to compare right off the bat due in part to their default ISO settings and alike. This often needs careful tweaking by the user to better suit their camera-usage needs, lighting environment, etc.
kind regards.

Are you implying android users are peasants? The arguement of "android users are peasants" makes no sense, and does not support the "iphone is better". If anything, more expensive is supposed to be a bad thing, im just the one trying to save my money, not to spend on overrated and overpriced products. Plus, the flagship android smartphones can range from 700 to 900 dollars, while the only smartphone iphone offers that can somewhat compete with android flagship phones is a 1000 dollars. Heck, i would use that to buy a gtx 1080, or something better than my amd radeon hd 7970. Anyways what im saying is, people who use the "android users are peasants" arguement is totally irrelevant, rude, and is false.
Honestly, go for a 700d, and if you even wanted the iphone x, im guessing you have a 1000 dollars laying around. Go invest in a good camera, it may help you some day, unlike a smartphone you'll likely throw away in like 2 to 4 years.
Even if you don't get the DSLR, your average point and shoot digital camera will still be a better choice than any camera on a mobile device.

More like, you couldn't pay me to use Apple
Yeah, not because of the freedom that Android offers or anything like that.
