I think Epic will stop giving out free games sooner.

I got a feeling that Epic will end giving out free games much sooner than expected. While ago, they talked about continuing doing it until 2024 or 2025, but with this economy like this, they may end that much sooner than expected. What do you think?!

The Epic Games Store is still unprofitable, even after used hundreds of millions dollars on it, and it will not be profitable for years to come either.

Its only a matter of time before Gamers are becoming tired of Fortnite and move on. Then Epic Games Store will become a dead swamp.

Well, the store is unprofitable but what they are doing
I saw that they are selling games for free which after a period of time are selling them again for free, so when you have the game, why you have to buy it again

Also the fortnite is making a lot of money, but it is a dead game because before there were 15 milions daily ano now 8 millions? While the store have more than 30 milions daily.
Also they have Unreal Engine 5 which become super popular, so they will take % from game sellings which are using their game engine.

Until they consider adding community forums and profiles, I’m sticking strictly to steam.

I will buy from egs first before any other store even if they stop giving me free games. And nowadays, I rarely took the free games anyway.

I feel grateful for hundreds of games and coupons that epic gave me for the past 3 years. Something I never had for any companies before.

Will they as are not people already thinking why buy say borderlands 3 when i can wait and get it eventually for 3.
Developers/publishers are already selling base game at a very low price eventually once the Ash ketchum got to get them all fever dies down and relying on DLCs. Epic is just taking this a step further.

As much as a person may like a certain game platform, its still a money game for consumers. If it wasnt then wow, would businesses take advantage of us if they knew you would pay a bit more just to have it on a certain platform.

To be fair other companies are already established so they don't need to placate customers and can treat us as rough as they can. Once egs is profitable they'll be another steam.

Imo you're actually better off making multiple accounts, claiming free games, and draining epic's resources faster as they have to reimburse the devs and / or publishers who own the games.


it'd be like the actual working irl example of piracy where you can download a movie 10000X and cost the movie company millions lmao. Well here they gotta pay the devs per copy so there you go.

Let's hope it happens sooner so even the 30 people that use it drop it finally so they can shut it down already and we can go back to being excited about a new otherwise good game without weeny ruining it.

You drain nothing... developers/publisher get a set fee for said title no matter if the title is downloaded once or a million times. Only thing your doing is wasting your own time with the effort you put in while at the same increasing epic's market share.

On another note, free games are great for everybody. Especially for gamer's who lack the funds to buy games.
