Malewarebytes or bitdefender?
So i already asked once which anti virus products would you recommend. Since my norton license runs out soon my choice would be either bitdefender or malwarebytes in combination with win defender. Which of the two would be better?
Please no just windows defender comments

bitdefender if you're that desperate

I've been using BitDefender for many years. No issues with it. Just never pay full price for it. It's easily found for substantially less, even on BitDefender's storefront on Amazon.

Can't comment on Malwarebytes as I've never got around to using it.

If you were using a malware to defend against viruses, you can take your pick they're both a lot better. Norton IS a virus and a spy program selling your data for profit.... and you were paying for it lol

I would go with malwarebytes and defender. Norton is hood as well but it gives you false positives all the time which gets really annoying. If you have malewarebytes which is really light in combination with the vpn plus defender you have all you need. Virustotal is also a bonus which always can be used

If you mean the crypto thing well that’s only in America the case but still shady

Yeah when i use virustotal on stuff which gets flagged by norton from 66 virus distributions 2 also says it’s unsafe lol and they are no name distros. But the funny thing even symatec in the list doesn’t flag it so it must be because it’s a new thing many don’t use case that’s why it gets flagged

Malwarebytes Premium is what I use, always done me good. The real time protection it offers is always blocking stuff it flags as dodgey.

How is malewarebytes with false positives? Norton seriously block everything especially things which aren’t used very often

No other anti virus flags things like norton at least in my experience. The good thing about malewarebytes its so light that it doesnt impact anything. but on the flypside the premium thing is way to expensive

Malwarebytes is good, even if you don't use it for real time protection.
That's been my experience with it.

It's full features are a bit over the top and overzealous in my defense though.

Also, Norton doesn't spy on people. Don't be silly people. Just because it's not a good anti-virus means that is what it does.

its pretty good, Norton is notorious for false flags

it blocks websites and urls it has on its blacklist by default, which is updated 24/7 so if it knows an ip is compromised it will block connection to the website.

best thing it does though is block incoming IP connections that happen in the background, so any attackers to your PC are stopped before they can even try to brute force into your pc.

its really good and worth the money, not expensive either.
So i deinstalled norton and bought the 2 year premium tier of malewarebytes and already like it much more. First i was confused because it’s not really an anti virus but maleware basically means all existing threads….. virus/spam mails etc which is pretty cool

I use common sense and a combination of ClamWin, Spybot S&D, Bleachbit and AdNauseum. Why spend money on inferior goods and services when you can have what you want and more for free?

I've never really run into issues with false positives except for the one or two offs that i just needed to add an exception for.

With which one? Norton is cancer in that regard. Malewarebytes is also much lighter that’s why i switched as well. I basically grew up with norton but it seems right now or for some years now it’s not the best anti virus anymore. In America they also included crypto stuff which is horrific
