Mostly I like that this community has done a lot to recognise and fix this, a few Steam groups actually exist where women can feel safe and can contribute. So no, not much you can do, except grow network into areas that are safe, check out

I'm not a twitcher, last logged in ages ago bit I have watched some of their other content, started small, and getting engagement lately.
well this went from 0 to blame the patriarchy real quick.
We don't have a lot of clues as to the cause. Most people hate their own voice, there is an entire TED talk on how to deal with that, is that what the OP is looking for. I assumed everyone had already watched this one, sorry to disappoint, here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3vSYbT1Aco
Another fear could be sheer social burnout it's called Rhobar's Number. The online age has clearly shifted that number, but at what cost?

/edit Does a person stop being a fish if they stop clicking or stop even seeing adverts?
I recall an short story series or book , EE doc smith I think - long out of print. where a police detective from the present travels forward in time and visits a police department in the future (for work purposes) where adverts abound (a bit like they do today) and find they are unable to do police work for all the distraction.
misogyny is a real phenomena and its presence online is directly proportional to the amount of lonely desperate men on a platform.
That's a fantastic question, Pinky!
As for the OP, I'm probably not the best at giving advice, but here's my best shot:
It's her decision, and if you let her know that you respect it, and also be supportive and have her know that you'll be her #1 fan, that will probably make her feel good. If she doesn't want to go through with it, that should be fine too.
