Rarely, but there are some great animes i would always recommend like Initial D and Fullmetal Alchemist. Those series are the best i know anime or not

I mostly read manga given that most anime is adaptations. Of the anime that isn't and of the adaptations that are good I have a list.

• Key the Metal Idol: a girl who thinks she's a robot goes to the big city to become a pop idol when her grandpa gets whacked by the military industrial complex.
  
• Hand Maid May: an engineering student is pranked by a rival and suddenly is the owner of a robot maid because viruses can open websites from the future.
  
• Hellsing Ultimate: Dracula, the Knights Templar and a police girl team up against the Catholic Church and their army of Nazi zombie vampires.
  
• Fighting Foodons: Pokémon meets Iron Chef.
  
• Samurai Pizza Cats: Two catboys, a catgirl, and a pizza place. Also they're samurais.
  
• Sister Princess: One guy gets admitted to a school and learns the hard way that his parents are very fertile when he's introduced to his twelve sisters who all go to the same school.
  
• Madlax: a rich girl and her maid team up with an amnesiac in her battle against the Illuminati and the military industrial complex. Elda taluta, sarks sark, ark arks. Also Friday Monday is best villain.

Also I'm fixing to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes because it's a space opera about why democracy and monarchy don't work and why the banking planet needs to go and stay go.

That's a bit of a special case. When Saban bought the rights to Kyatto Ninden Teyandee, they pretty much wrote their own original dub scripts. The original dub was only recently released with accurate subs.
