Example my Nintendo DS that ran linux.
The numerous people running an OS that isn't 10 on post kaby lake despite that win 10 only message.
Windows just keeps getting worse, so who even cares, I'm just hoping Gaben saves the day with proton and linux gaming, I like many others couldn't care less about the windows ecosystem. (Edge is dead, Windows on Phones is dead, Teams got stomped by Discord/Slack/Zoom/Google meat. And Office is basically a subscription service now)
If you want 11 there will be a way I'm sure. MS announced all that because they made the original 10 to be very compatible with legacy hardware (or they tried) because they wanted to control market share. And now that they've railroaded everyone off of 7, and 8.1 into 10. They can release 11 without support for old hardware, and strange custom builds, thus reducing their footprint and effort substantially. All the Giants do this, heck they invented a term for it, EOL End of life. They don't want you to have retro stuff, use things until they break, etc.
lot's of peoples get new computers not because they can't run the program they need but because the internet itself became so much more bloated then before that very old PC sometime have issues just opening an email or a even a simple 480P youtube video.
I'm sure there are builds that would fail that. While most builds are probably fine. (we'll know for sure later) I'm sure a lot of PC builders are going to have near edge or bleeding edge tech, and that'll probably pass any magic gate keeping windows junk for 11. That doesn't mean there isn't odd ball builds. The latest i7 paired with an old SATA SSD and video card, because they were gifted it. PCs with over powered video cards because they were gifted just the card. You get my point.
But my original statement stands, even if you failed, there will be some way, like come on, people have been bypassing that kind of thing for ages. In fact there are enthusiasts who just like doing that because they can.
Video cards have been DirectX12 capable for several generations, and Setup doesn't even enforce that as long as you have a WDDM driver for that card.
Pretty much the enforced minimums are TPM 2.0, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, "compatible" processor, UEFI boot, Secure Boot available, and dual core. And yes, pretty much all of that can even be bypassed as long as it boots, which can be just as simple as deploying using DISM for a clean install.
going with the classic ''you fool , how do you dare using an unssuported version of windows to browse the web , you virus magnet should no longer have access to the internet''
I get it , if you're still using windows XP , Vita or 7 there are a whole more exploit but getting this agressive toward peoples that prefer the older windows is not gonna help.
Monitor your network traffic. You're asking for sources saying "yep, this doesn't exist" while providing zero evidence for the contrary.
You can't even activate a Windows XP product key online anymore because the activation servers now require TLS 1.2.
yeah but explaining them properly the why rather then go ''shame on you'' is a better solution to get peoples to upgrades in my opinion.
Not believing in the baseless accusations of microsoft sniffing through your files is now a conspiracy theory? Are you sure that's not lead in your tinfoil hat?
