What to do about Win11

So microsoft once again delivers a blow to PC users they and their crumby companies lining their pockets that are whispering in their ear, to not allow custom built (non PC company built, Dell, Acer, ETC.) PC's to run Win11. This is absolutely terrible! To bad AMD is not making their own OS as they are for the PC users. It's like microsoft aims to irritate their users and try to further monopolize anything and everything that they possibly can. What can we do as users?! How do we change their mind?!

My custom built PC is running Windows 11 without a problem. Microsoft has no reason to disallow Windows 11 on custom builds that meet the requirements. Doing so would only harm their attempts to monopolise.

Yeah also I'm running Win11 on a custom build OP sounds like one of those people who can't enable discrete TPM. I'll admit hardware req's such as that set a dangerous precedent but the truth is if you don't have a TPM or you can't enable discrete TPM it is probably time to admit your system is beyond its lifetime defined by microsoft

It seems microsoft is not expecting systems to outlast their operating system versions. i.e. a system built on windows 7 shouldn't have been able to extend its lifetime to windows 8, windows 8.1, windows 10, and windows 11. They want you to replace your computer when a new OS comes out. For the poors microsoft will give them a free "upgrade"

I suspect the OP is just repeating some baseless rumour they heard on YouTube or a forum, without taking the time to think it through. It would be helpful if they posted a source, so we can understand why they think this is a thing.

In addition to the TPM stink they are testing Adverts in file explorer.

And I wish I went to where OP was, last independent owned PC place I went into almost half a year ago their display PCs were all running Win 11; asked the attendant and he said that it self installed one day with the updates.

Aside from the task bar, start menu, and right-click context menu Windows 11 is fine.

I also build my own desktops and have had zero problem installing/activating Win10/11 on it. I really doubt it'll be an issue in the future as well.

I'm still on MS-DOS. Chuckie Egg still plays fine on it.

As far as i am concerned Uwp is only for free version (windows 10s).

Yeah, that's an annoyance. Fortunately the Microsoft account screen can be skipped by entering an invalid email address like [e-mail]. This causes an error, and then brings up the screen to create a local account instead. It even works on Windows 11 Home.

Even if there's workarounds, Microsoft have shown they haven't learned anything since they first started forced updates and keyloggers and spyware telemetry. I will never use another Windows. It won't belong before they lock more and more of the file system from unauthorized activity, and start using webcam eye-tracking to lock you out until you've viewed their ads, and forcing geolocation at all times.

Read an article stating that they will not allow win11 install on custom built PC's. Even on the windows update screen its telling me that my PC does not meet the requirements and I have a very modern newly built PC. I have to stay updated due to business needs so its not just something silly for me and no lie, their move to not support custom PC's has irritated me. I am curious to know more about the one person who stated they also have a custom built and somehow got win11 installed on it.

You just need to enable something in the bios.

My PC was built by myself and I have Windiws 11

It's likely someone bought a motherboard from dead stock that didn't have a TPM module and it's showing as "unsupported" in the Win11 pre-check.

Not all motherboards have a TPM chip. And, some can be supported with a sort of TPM-software solution, IIRC. But, the latter sort of acts to defeat the purpose of TPM. TPM is not, however, some panacea in terms of a security measure. But, it's an attempt to provide unique hardware encryption at the lowest level possible that is "tamper resistant." (It's not tamper or malware proof. But, it is stronger than software based measures.) It's also possible there are certain privacy issues, too. "What are you doing, TPM chip?" :)
